If you have any questions about what we offer or how we can help your movement journey, please get in touch through the form.
Absolutely! MOVE welcomes people of any age, level, and background. We offer beginner-friendly classes and create a safe, supportive environment for everyone to try something new.
We offer a diverse range of dance, circus, and movement classes. Visit our classes page to see current offerings.
All bookings are made online using Mindbody as a booking system.
1. On our class page, use the filters to find a class that suits you.
2. Click on the class you want to try.
3. Click “Book now” at the top of the page.
4. Mindbody will ask you to log in or create an account to proceed.
5. There are two booking options: you can either book in for the term (selecting the “Register from this date forward” tick box) or choose a specific date by ticking the “Choose your schedule” box and selecting which date you’d like to attend.
7. Select the appropriate pricing option: a Single Pass if you are only attending one class, or the Term Booking option if you are booking in for the term.
If you are finding a class through the Mindbody Consumer site, you will need to go to the “Workshops” tab, not the “Classes” tab.
You can add family members to your personal Mindbody account using the Family Account option.
Mindbody’s Family Account option is the default for all MOVE accounts, even if it is only you registered to the account.
If you’re setting up an account just for yourself, follow the steps below to complete your registration:
On the “Add Family Members” screen, enter the account owner’s name (i.e. your name).
If you don’t wish to add any family members, simply click the trash can icon to remove the Family Member section.
Click “Next” to continue.
On the “Confirm Account Owner” screen, select the owner and click “Create Family Account.”
If you need any help along the way, please don’t hesitate to reach out – we’re here to support you.
Our Term 1 classes are open to drop-in bookings (where you just want to try one class) and term bookings (where you register for the 8-9 week course).
You are welcome to turn up to a class as a drop-in, however we cannot guarantee that there will be space for you; we would recommend checking the appropriate class page on our website to make sure it has not been booked out.
We have two different concession cards: one for dance and artistic movement (which can be used for any class valued at $15) and one for circus (which can be used for any class valued at $25). When you buy a concession card, you pay for 9 classes and get the tenth free!
To purchase a concession card, click the appropriate card at the top of our classes page (or get one of each!).
The concession cards have been set up as a one-time “contract” – there is “one recurring payment for one month”, which simply means there’s a one-off payment for to purchase the card – you won’t be charged for another one once the first runs out, unless you choose to buy another.
The concession cards are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase, and can be used for any class with with corresponding concession card payment option.
To receive class reminders and schedule changes, you need to tick the “Schedule Updates” box at the bottom of your account profile page.
Unfortunately, the Mindbody app only shows single events, not multi-day classes, which means you won’t be able to view our term-based classes.
You can find our term classes using our website booking tool or through the Mindbody Consumer Site.
You can book one of our term classes on a specific date – even if it’s partway through the term – using the Mindbody Consumer Site, giving you the freedom to attend on dates that work with your timetable!
No, the building reception is managed by Christchurch City Council and cannot process MOVE bookings. You don’t need to go to Parakiore reception at all.
All online bookings for our classes are paid for at the time of booking. Our classes offer card payment options at the door for drop-ins.
For our dance and artistic movement classes, wear comfortable clothing that doesn’t restrict your movement.
For our circus classes, wear comfy, stretchy, fitted clothing – leggings, track pants, shorts with a T-shirt or singlet work well. For aerial classes, it’s helpful to bring longer layers (long sleeves, long leggings, track pants or socks) to protect your skin when needed. Classes are done barefoot or in socks.
For safety and to protect our equipment, please avoid clothing with zips, remove all long dangling jewellery, and bring a hair tie if you have long hair. We may ask you to cover any piercings that can’t be removed as the aerial equipment loves to steal them!
Free parking is available for 2 hours at the Parakiore car park.
When you arrive, you’ll need to input your vehicle registration into the parking machines inside, or use the Scan-2-Pay QR code.
To avoid the queue in the lobby, come upstairs to Level 2 and use the parking machine close to Studio 3.
If you’re an artistic movement group or organisation please contact us about hiring a studio.
