Jolt Dance at MOVE Seniors (40+)

Jolt Dance are excited to offer a movement/dance class for people over 40 years of age with intellectual disabilities. In this drop-in class, we will use music and movement to build connection and musicality while having lots of fun!

Activities will offer opportunities for everybody to engage and express themselves creatively through movement, as well as a teaching team that role models disability leadership.

Jolt Dance has 25 years of experience working in the inclusive dance space here in Ōtautahi, and we are excited to offer this opportunity specifically to those over 40. Jolt Dance

Kate Zonneveld joined Jolt Dance in early 2025, bringing her love of inclusive dance to every class. Alongside teaching in primary schools and raising her two young sons, she finds joy in creating movement experiences that welcome everyone, no matter their ability. Since 2014, Kate has worked with neurodiverse and intellectually disabled students, celebrating the unique ways each person moves and expresses themselves. A passionate music lover, she believes dance is a way to connect, share joy, and tell our stories. Kate’s intuitive approach ensures every learner feels seen, supported, and inspired.

Samuel has been part of Jolt for over 13 years, performing in works such as The Seasons with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra and contributing as a core member of the Jolt Youth Performance Company from 2015–2022. He has completed Jolt’s MOVE teacher training programme and now supports classes as an assistant tutor. Samuel leads workshops in primary, secondary and specialist schools, sharing his deep love of music and movement. His ability to connect through dance creates welcoming spaces where people feel seen, encouraged and inspired to participate.
