Capoeira Angola for Families

Capoeira Angola is an Afro-Brazilian art form that weaves together movement, music, and dance, and is celebrated for its fluidity, rhythm, and strong sense of community.

This class introduces the basic movements of Capoeira Angola, along with playful partner exercises and simple acrobatics such as cartwheels and headstands, all taught through games and shared exploration.

Open to all levels, the class offers a welcoming space to move, learn, and connect with others.

Requirements:

Participants are encouraged to wear long pants and sneakers or athletic shoes.

Stephen has been practising Capoeira for over 20 years, with a deep love for traditional Capoeira Angola, its music, ritual, and rich cultural history. As a trainer at ECAMAR Capoeira Angola school, he teaches under the guidance of Mestre Roxinho from Itaparica, Brazil. Stephen creates classes that are welcoming and supportive, helping students of all levels build strength, coordination, and confidence while exploring the rhythm, flow, and artistry of Capoeira. His teaching celebrates connection, culture, and the joy of movement.
