Step into the elegance of ballroom in a supportive daytime class designed especially for mature dancers. These sessions offer a welcoming space where you can learn at a comfortable pace, build confidence, and enjoy the beauty of movement – whether you’re brand new or returning with a little experience.

You’ll explore a range of classic dances: Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Quickstep and Viennese Waltz, along with Latin favourites such as Rumba, Samba, Cha Cha, Jive and Paso Doble. Each routine is thoughtfully choreographed with the mature dancer in mind, with plenty of guidance on technique and flow.

Perfect for anyone wanting to enjoy social dance without heading out at night, this daytime class is a chance to move, connect, and experience the joy of ballroom in a relaxed, encouraging environment.

This is an approved community group strength and balance class.

Janita has been dancing for over 30 years and teaching since 2018, specialising in Ballroom, Latin, and New Vogue through the New Zealand Federation of Dance Teachers. She is continuing her studies to gain higher teaching qualifications. Janita believes dance should always be fun and encourages students to learn at a pace and in a way that suits them. Her classes focus on connection, enjoyment, and confidence, helping learners of all abilities explore movement, express themselves, and discover the joy of dance.
